Cross Infection
We also have had high-level experience of cleaning operating theatres, burns/renal units and labs, and know how to safely clean up blood and bodily fluids. We provide our people with ongoing education in order to ensure the very highest standards, and have a specific focus on hazard identification and reporting, and hygiene, particularly as it pertains to the avoidance of outbreaks of gastroenteritis, MRSA and other serious infections. Our standards for these areas are tested daily by swabs and cultures.

We ensure our people are inducted and trained according to your needs and our standards. Mastercare cleaning staff are trained in a number of key areas, including, but not limited to, infection control and the importance of hand-washing, disposal of hazardous materials, and cleaning up bodily fluids.
Training takes the form of 36 modules across four categories and is both comprehensive and ongoing. Just some of the key training areas on which we concentrate include:
- Infection control and the importance of hand-washing
- The correct use of disinfectants
- The use and frequent changing of plastic gloves
- Disposal of hazardous materials, and
- Cleaning up bodily fluids.
We also employ experienced medical-industry professionals who provide our cleaners with specialist advice, and provide different services relevant to many aged-care facilities, such as supernumeraries, grounds maintenance and window cleaning personnel.
Mastercare’s management structure is designed to clearly delineate tasks and responsibilities, eradicate confusion or miscommunication, deliver outstanding outcomes, and ensure we consistently meet all key performance indicators (KPls). Every member of our team knows exactly what their role is and how their work impacts our ability to meet KPls.
We have been transitioning into situations like these for decades and understand that sensitivity must be a priority. Wherever possible, Mastercare strives to retain all existing cleaners unless they aren’t performing. If they must be let go, we try to find them alternative employment within the local area.
